Physical Science Degree Requirements

As part of earning your bachelor's degree, you will fulfill the K-State Core as well as the associated College of Arts and Sciences requirements based on your pursuit of either the Bachelor of Arts route or Bachelor of Science route along with the Physical Science major specific coursework outlined below.

MATH 220 and 221	Analytic Geometry and Calculus I and II	8
STAT	One of these Statistics courses: STAT 225, 240, 410 or 510	3
CHM 210 and 230 OR CHM 220 and 250	Chemistry I and II or Honors Chem I and II	8-10
GEOL 100/103 OR GEOG 121/122	Earth in Action & Geology Lab Intro Physical Geography	4
PHYS 113 and 114 OR PHYS 213 and 214	General Physics I and II Engineering Physics I and II	8-10
Physcial Science Electives	Select minimum 18 credits from the following disciplines at 300 level or higher. 9 credits must come from CHM, GEOG, GEOL, PHYS. CHM 300-799, GEOG 300-799, GEOL 300-799, PHYS 300-799, MATH 300-799, STAT 300-799, CIS 300-799.	18
DAS 499	Physical Science Senior Report	1

Problems, Seminar or Topics courses are not acceptable unless outlined specifically in DARS At least five elective hours must have a prerequisite. A "C" or better is required in all courses (including transfer work) prescribed for this curriculum (including electives). A 2.0 cumulative GPA is required overall. 120 hours are required overall for graduation.

DAS 499: Physical Science Senior Report allows individual exploration of an area of physical science culminating in a final formal report. This is the Capstone course required of Physical Science Interdisciplinary majors. Permission of the Physical Science advisor is a prerequisite for the course.
