Social Science Degree Requirements
As part of earning your bachelor's degree, you will fulfill the K-State Core as well as the associated College of Arts and Sciences requirements based on your pursuit of either the Bachelor of Arts route or Bachelor of Science route along with the Social Science major specific coursework outlined below.

The Social Science major includes following criteria:
- 9 credit hours of foundational courses wtihin the Social Science disciplines.
- Two Social Science areas of concentration, with a 12 credit hour minimum to each (and at least 9 of those 12 hours being upper level).
- Thematic Elective
- DAS 498 Social Science Capstone
- Additionally, A&S learners are asked to complete three overlay courses (Ethical Reasoning, Global Perspectives, and US Multicultural) and an Outside Concentration to further the diversity of their education and well-roundedness of their career preparation.
- No more than nine hours may overlap between the Basic Requirements and Major Curriculum
A 2.0 GPA is necessary overall and a grade of "C" is required for all courses in the major curriculum. 120 hours are required to graduate with 45 hours at the 300 level or higher.
