What is antiracism?
“I’m not racist!” Pretty much everyone says this. And yet, racism persists. This is why it is not enough to be not racist. One must be antiracist.
To be antiracist is to be actively engaged in the work to dismantle the injustices built by centuries of belief in a hierarchy of human value. Since racism operates at multiple levels, we have to make antiracist choices at all levels -- individual, interpersonal, and institutional -- to eradicate racism from the structures and fabric of our society in order to ensure equity and justice for all.
