K-State Alumni Association Graduate Student Awards

Established in 2010, the K-State Alumni Association receives nominations from K-State faculty and selects award winners in two categories: Academics and Leadership/Service.

Presidential Awards for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching by a Teaching Assistant

The Presidential Awards for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching recognizes compassion, dedication and creativity as teachers, advisers or administrators. The Office of the President and Curtain Property Co. sponsor this award.

 

Stamey Award for Graduate Teaching Assistants

William L. Stamey is a mathematician and served as dean of the College of Arts and Sciences for seventeen years from 1970-1987. In recognition of Dean Stamey's outstanding record in recruiting excellent faculty to Kansas State University and in recognition of the continuing need to foster excellence in teaching and advising, the College of Arts and Sciences has established the William L. Stamey Award. This year's graduate teaching assistant award recipient is:

 

Alvin & RosaLee Sarachek Predoctoral Honors Fellowship and Travel Awards in Molecular Biology

The Sarachek Predoctoral Honors Fellowship provides an award of $17,000 to a resident graduate student enrolled in a Ph.D. program at Kansas State University. In addition to the Honors Fellowship, up to three Sarachek Scientific Travel Awards of $1,000 each will be presented annually, as determined by a faculty selection committee. University Distinguished Professor Graduate Student Award

This award is intended to recognize exceptional achievement in graduate studies. Applicants must demonstrate excellence in scholarship through publications and other accomplishments appropriate for his or her academic field.

The University Distinguished Professors Graduate Student Award provides an award of $10,000 to a resident graduate student enrolled in a Ph.D. program at Kansas State University.
