Program Overview

How it Works

  • Apply to be a Mentee or Mentor at WildcatLink!

  • Mentoring pairs are matched based on mentee favorites, industry, major, location, and interests.
  • Mentors and mentees typically connect every two weeks throughout the semester and have access to conversation prompts and support from program staff.
  • Pairs are matched at the beginning of the fall and spring semesters with the option to continue the current pairing.

Mentees can:

  • Browse mentor profiles.
  • Favorite mentors based on interests and background.
  • Indicate preferences to help guide the matching process.

What Students and Mentors Are Saying

“I was matched with a K-State alum that is a transplant surgeon in Dallas, who not only supported my academic goals but also my personal growth. We met monthly, and I even shadowed her for a week, which was crucial in preparing me for applications and interviews.”

“I am incredibly grateful for the mentorship program, and I hope to give back one day by becoming a mentor myself.”

—Michael Bartkoski, 2024 graduate

“I had the opportunity to mentor two students in the fall of 2023 that I will never forget. It was very rewarding to be able to connect one of the students with an internship opportunity in Topeka and to introduce the other student to individuals in the non-profit community.”

“I enjoyed the experience of serving as a mentor and being able to support K-State students through the ArtSci Mentorship program.”

—Amy Button Renz '76, '86, Retired President and CEO of K-State Alumni Association
