Curious Cake Brownies
1 box German Chocolate cake mix
1 small can evaporated milk (in total, you'll need 2/3 C)
3/4 C butter, melted
1 package caramel candies(14 oz), unwrapped (or 1 package caramel bites)
1 package chocolate chips (12 oz)
1 C chopped Pecans
Mix the cake mix and melted butter with 1/3 C evaporated milk. Pat 1/2 of the mixture in a 9x13 pan and bake 5 minutes at 350.
While hot, sprinkle chocolate chips and nuts evenly over crust. Melt in the microwave - caramels with remaining evaporated milk.
Stir until smooth. Pour over nuts and chocolate chips. Top with the remaining cake mixture (this is thick, so flatten small pieces and lay on top. Does not have to cover the entire top completely since it bakes together). Bake at 350 for 20 minutes. Cool and cut into bars.
