Faculty Enhancement Program

The program provides awards of up to $10,000 to tenure-earning faculty members within three years of hire. Awards are made on a competitive basis for projects to be accomplished in one calendar year. Up to two pay periods of summer salary can be supported for faculty members on nine-month appointments. Additionally, the funds can be used for purchase of supplies or travel for the purpose of conducting or disseminating research.

Awardees meet regularly with a mentor during the year of their project and are informed of opportunities to apply for additional intramural funding and to attend workshops for extramural grant programs.

Preference is given to applicants who have not had postdoctoral research opportunities or extensive start-up packages.

The competition is announced in late fall for awards beginning in the next calendar year. The program is overseen by the college's associate dean for research. Inquiries may be emailed to Grant Specialist Laura Hohenbary.
